Study Finds Owning Cool Latest Leather Jacket More Rewarding Than Raising Children

A study released Thursday by the appeasing Parenting Institute found that owning a gravely cool leather jacket is significantly more fulfilling than raising a child to adulthood. "Our research suggests that the feeling of purchasing a really amazing leather jacket and then arrogantly watching over time as it gradually becomes broken in and forms completely to your body is, by a very wide margin, more rewarding than conceiving a child and then raising it from birth to 18 years of age," said guide canvasser Dr. Marcus Aiello, adding that it was on average 63 percent more rewarding to regularly condition a leather jacket that had awesome vertical zippers on the sleeves than it was to read nightly bedtime stories to a son or daughter. “When study participants also obtained just the right pair of faded jeans and some vintage harness motorbike boots to go with their badass leather jacket, these enormous feelings of pride and approval reached levels that caused similar feelings stemming from attending a child's college commencement to become statistically irrelevant.” Aiello also noted that the average cost of raising a child is estimated to be $400,000; an amount researchers sharp out was a good deal higher than the price of a mint-condition 1971 supercharged Plymouth Barracuda.

New Modern Italian Leather Jackets

Meaning of leather.
Leather is the skin of an animal which has been fully removed of hair. The skin goes through a complex and difficult process involving tanning, soaking, and cleaning before it can be formally called leather. Man has been using leather for over three thousand years, making it one of the most very old materials used as a tool. Before the advent of tanning, very old man would generally dress himself in the pelts of animals he had caught and killed. This raw pelt would eventually decompose, and he would be left to find another appropriate animal to make clothing out of. Because of tanning, man was able to protect the hides of the animals he caught or tamed, and prevent any sort of rotting from occurring, for a reasonably long period of time at least. This is done by removing the attendance of fat and water, substances that cause it to decay over time, in the skin.
What creates Italian leather so special?
Italian leather is generally hand-crafted and tooled to give you the best excellence. Much time and care is put into making the leather as tough, weather-tight, and beautiful as it can be. At every stage of the tanning process, the leather is experienced to make sure it is up to normal. The process by which it is made, though having benefited from modern technology, remains basically the same as it has been for the last three thousand years. Why mess with a winning produce, after all?
What do I notice for in an Italian leather jacket?
First, smell the product and Leather gives off a very rich and musky, earthy smell, and the scent of the chemicals used to treat the leather should have dissolute by the time the product is ready to be sold.
Second, make sure it is water-tight and Drops of water should bead on the exterior of the leather and not seep through it at all.

Modern and latest Leather Jerkin

Leather Jerkin

Next on my list of Things to make is a leather jerkin and Doeskin, to be exact. It is quite perhaps the garment I've procrastinated most of anything I've ever contemplated doing ever.  Don't consider me? I bought the leather ten years ago.
This silly thing sorta scares the crap out of me for no cause at all. It's not that I've never sewn leather before. And it's not that I don't know how to create it. Honestly, I think it's the degree to which I desirable the leather jackets that all the cool kids were tiring back when I was a kid thanks to Top Gun and Indiana Jones, and the even greater degree to which my dad refuse to let me buy one or buy one for me. They were too luxurious. They were luxury items. Dad didn't grasp with such things...
When I finally got one, they were no longer cool, but I treated it as if it had been made of fillet china rather than one of the tougher resources known to man and had been beat to crap (aka "distressed") at the factory.
And it doesn't matter that I've owned dozens of leather coats since or that I've sewn sheaths and bags and purses and gloves and hats and masks and various whatnot out of leather. Making a jacket just seems like a viaduct further than I've ever been...

Hottest Locavoirs, Leather and Mindfulness

Part of the great fight of both the vintage leather business and the new leather business is that of principles.  Mindfulness is that process of becoming aware of the self and seeing all things as unified.  The local food organization is an example of mindful shopping where contributor prefers to buy from local producers where they know the source of their food and how it was grown vs. buying by price.  Oddly my leather jacket scheme Himel Brothers has taught me valued lessons on the kinds of problems that indigenous manufacturers may have faced as they progressed their business.  Every day I get 2 to 3 emails and spams to this blog from Pakistani leather manufacturers offering to make me jackets from my prototype for the price of 47-57 dollars per coat.  How wonderful!  I cannot even give for the leather in one jacket at that price.  It makes for a very attractive debate amongst my customers and my retailers about costs and pricing.
Now I generally don't think everything I make is average.  Certainly I aspire to not only achieve the quality and character of my vintage compilation in my new jackets but I am also trying to achieve the zen nature and longevity that original jackets imbued.  Environmentally speaking I have to know each of my suppliers, and design perfect life long permanent styles that are made of ethical materials.  While not 100% local in the sense of coming from my region or region, each dealer is vetted for what they are creation and how they are making.  Perhaps the differences between lovingly grown horses slaughtered and gently treated and then vegetable brown in tree bark in Japan is not always
Readily apparent to the consumer?  The jackets are not permanent, nor do they glow with electronic or transport the wearer to another planet.  Simply put the pressures for me are to make perfect technical imitation out of organic resources and not be the guy using my skills and knowledge to make 47 dollar jackets in Pakistan and sell them for half of what I am presently doing.  People ask me why and how I do things.  I think to myself. I make life long permanent, beautiful, well made, well sourced natural jackets that like my vintage collection will age and die gracefully.  It is amazing to think about when you are buying your next 200 dollar made in (where ever) jacket all that energy and all the unconstructiveness that goes into making something cheaply will be worn right on your back!  Producers back in the day sought to be price spirited whilst increasing features, branding and quality.  Old makers achieve the pinnacles of that paradigm and new competitors could only compete on pricing.  It was that descending push on pricing via cheaper imports and a less cultured consumer that lead to the extinction of domestic garment makers.  How sad really because the buyer actually stopped caring about what they were wearing and chose simulated fashion, or fake quality in deference to price!
